Little Rock’s Southwest Power Pool Announces $150M Expansion

Little Rock-based Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is launching a $150 million expansion designed to support growth and enhance efficiency and reliability across the electric grid. The project will expand SPP’s services and advance Markets+, an innovative energy market serving the Pacific Northwest, Mountain West and Desert Southwest.
By the end of 2027, SPP expects to create about 190 new jobs, including engineering, IT, market administration and support roles. Approximately 165 of those positions will be based in Little Rock. The expansion is backed by secured financing and reflects the organization’s continued growth beyond its traditional footprint.
