Solid Waste Management Board
The Southwest Arkansas Regional Solid Waste Management Board is composed of elected officials from six counties (Calhoun, Columbia, Dallas, Miller, Ouachita, and Union). It assists with the disposal and recycling of waste tires, while also helping cities and counties negotiate waste disposal contracts. The district also provides grant funds for recycling projects within its counties. These grants may cover:
- Electronic waste recycling
- Recycling facility improvements
- Trucks and Trailers
- Recycling equipment (balers, forklifts, etc.)
- Recycling education
