This is the pre-adoption Public Review Draft of the Union County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. It is posted for a 30-day public comment period as required by 44 CFR 201.6(b)(2). The public comment period runs from September 18, 2026 through October 18, 2026. Every resident, property owner, business owner, neighboring jurisdiction, agency, and interested party in Union County is invited to review the draft and submit written comments before the plan is finalized and adopted.

What happens next

All comments received during the 30-day period will be reviewed by the planning committee and Union County OEM, and the plan will be revised as appropriate. The revised plan will then be submitted to the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) for state review and to FEMA Region 6 for federal approval, after which each participating jurisdiction will adopt the plan by resolution.
